You miss out because you applied earlier?

    Bad Idea in my opinion.
I think you could do it differently mate and it would suit a lot of people including myself you could do it on a package basis a Platinum, Gold, Silver Bronze type deal.
The Platinum could be the top 5 games, Gold 3 of the top 5 and 2 B games etc etc.
When all the applications are processed if you don't qualify for the one you want you get offered the next one so on.
Needs a bit more thought but I think if structured right would be a great idea.

Have the tickets spread through the season and not all bunched up? It's a way of ensuring you fill a big stadium for the small games as well as your Scum game.

Nah mate, I dont think its right.

It reaks of people being able to just pick the best games. Who is gonna want to buy a 5 game ticket covering midweek at home to Boro and Fulham, oh they'll buy it if there is Utd at home thrown in but then will they bother to come to the others? I doubt it to be honest then LFc will have the money but the ground wouldnt be full, when they couldve gone on cash gates and got bums on seats.

Is it tho? Its a way of ensuring the club has the money but not everyone is gonna turn up. If you live in say, Cornwall or Cork are you gonna come over for midweek against Boro in January? Some might but all wont, but they'll come for the big game in their 5 game ticket. So what happens to the ground then? Its empty when those tickets couldve gon on the gate at a cheper rate so we could fill the place and once in the ground people will spend money. Bad business sense the few games ticket lark.

Good point that, so your thought would be to structure the prices according to games, make the games against Derby or Birmingham cheaper or something like that.

Very spurious source being wikipedia like, but I found this line interesting. I doubt it has much truth to it as the council would not allow it, but someone seems to think it's happening.

The club now looks for George N. Gillett Jr. and Tom Hicks to help fund the £160m, 60,000 all-seater stadium, after agreeing the taking over from former chairman David Moores. Work is to start in April 2007. But the new owners have gone back to Liverpool City Council for planning permission to add a further 20,000 seats to make the new ground the biggest club stadium in England.

What about if you tiered the games?

                Tier 1 Mancs/Chavs/Arse/Neverton
                Tier 2 Villans/Barcodes/Hammers/Spurs
                Tier 3 The rest

You can pick 1 game from tiers 1&2, the others would be from tier 3.
I.e a five game tkt would be Chavs,Spurs,Derby,Wigan and Blackburn etc.

If the Kop is to be 19k, what do you think the capacity of the other 3 stands will be?

15, 15 and 12 initially? maybe 14.5 on the sides if we get the 66k permission straight away

There is some talk on RAWK that the Away End will only have 7,000 seats.

I attended the RTK Q&A session tonight with the aim of asking about the new stadium, but understandably the evening was dominated by events in Athens, the clubs response, the Final ticket issue & genrally loyalty.

                        Hence, I didn't get to ask my question. I did manage to speak with Rick Parry at the end and he confirmed the following;

The Revised design requires a fresh planning application, to by pass the majority of the delays and objections, the capacity will remain the same, ie 61k, however Parry said the KOP was stunning and it will be around 19k in capacity. The reason why the 61k is the same, is because all the transport infrastructure issues & objections have been looked at & from what I can gather this will allow us to get approval to start building ASAP.

Not wanting to give ammunition to people who object to the ground, Parry went onto say the club may or may not (IMO we will) then put in another application to upgrade the capacity to 66k, while the work is in progress, with a view to completing the stadium on time with 66k capacity, in the same amount of time that they would have completed it with 61k.

I then asked about a upper limit & it appears that the figure mooted was 76k, but this would be dependant on a number of things, including the reopening of the Bootle Branch line & the reserection of the tram scheme, but who knows, maybe with the Yanks help?

                        Other notable figures from the evening;

Currently 60k on the season ticket waiting list & currently 166k fan card holders.
I've posted more detail on this in the past. I spoke to Merseytravel about the re-opening of the Bootle branch line and it will take a lot of money to re-open it - that LFC will have to fund as Merseytravel cannot afford it. The tram is still not dead 'per se' but a lot of European money required for the scheme has been re-alocated. Due to the expanding EU and poorer states joining, we won't get the same amount of European funding in future. Thus the funding gap is BIG.

My view (and those of high ranking City Council officers) - on the basis of current policy etc - the likelihood of us having a bigger stadium than the 61,00 are small. although the architects are tasked to come up with a scheme for a 78,000 seat stadium.

My only hope is that the possible unviability of housing markets in Anfield and Breckfield might just encourage people in positions of power that having 78,000 disgorging into the area after a match, thus sustaining the local economy, is not such a bad thing.

...because when a planning application is submitted, it has to be publicised to allow for objections to be made. However, the meeting on the 18th is a pre planning meeting with LCC. It will be many months before a Planning Application is submitted.

That's not to say LFC won't release the proposals to fans as part of a consltation process prior to submission of the application.

Ticket prices are already split depending on the team.

Again tho, given tickets for certain games can change hands for £500 people will buy a 5 game ticket just to get the one game then the rest of the games, not attend. LFC get the money but the ground has empty seats.

                              from RAWK via YNWA

"Stadium will be torpedo shaped to accommodate the elongated Kop, plans have 3 different capacities - 61k, 68k, 73k. I am led to believe because of the changes to design, planning permission will have to be resubmitted hence the new start date.

Basic design is complete, HKS are getting there London office to complete detailed design, with an M&E Consultant close to me. Laing O'Rourke should still be the builder!"

expects work to start in Jan 08

So my point was that it doesn't have to be made public on the same day as the meeting does it?

It's irrelevant anyway, we'll see the plans when we see them
