i think having swipe cards will be a major step forward as no one is going to want to hand theirs over to someone they dont know.
touts may try and find a way around this by going up to the gates with someone and swiping it but it should help a little.
i also think the st list is ridiculous,i think as has been mooted if you were asked to pay a nominal fee for staying on the list which,in time would go against the cost of your 1st year a lot of those thousands would dissapear,especially those that have a few entries down.

I've gone up to the turnstile with Will, swiped the card to let him in then walked away with the card. The operators just turn a blind eye or don't give a **** to be honest!

Mind you I did that once then realised after I'd sat down in my seat in the LC and after the match had kicked off that I'd forgotten to tell him which seat he was in! Thankfully Will remembered from the last time he used it...

Swipe cards fully replacing the fan cards is really the only way to combat touts, (short of implanting a chip in someone) but that would only work at home games.

I mean we are half way there with the fan card system in being able to track and trace touts, just a bit of forward thinking would get rid of it completely, home and away.

£50 season ticket waiting should seperate the people who want them to the people who idly put put me on the waiting list when they got their fan card - knowing there is a waiting list anyway.

166k fan cards are because touts have loads between them, you should only have one each IMO. That would be very easy to implement, just ask for their bank details when they apply and put it on a computer - if a guy with the same name, date of birth, occupation and address has two banks and applies for two cards - it is pretty obvious its the same guy no?

You don't post much regarding stadium news. Any particulzr reason as to why, afterall it was you who the broke the news about new design etc?

Re: those talking about mini-STs -- do you mean that these should supplement the existing standard ones, or in some manner replace them? I really can't see the long-term, hardcore ST holders buying into the latter idea.

I think something is being contemplated, because the recent survey I had in my e-mail asked, among other things, whether I'd be interested in buying 'blocks' of matches. In both cases, I would be slightly concerned by what it implies. If it leads to a reduction in individual match tickets on sale, then that's not necessarily good. I think it should at least go on hold until the new stadium, when demand can be better managed. It's hard enough to get a seat at the current Anfield as it is, without taking more out of circulation.

I am a ST holder, I mean as well as ST's. But I think the Glove has raised a few valid points so I am not sure. The reason I mentioned it was because Hicks spoke about having a more varied pricing structure in the NEW stadium and then mentioned it. I would suspect it would only be used in the new stadium.

I think it's important that they keep a good proportion of tickets affordable, particularly in the new Kop. The price is edging ever closer to £40 a game, which is unacceptable for a regular attendee; I certainly couldn't justify that every other week. The greater number of seats will allow them to introduce greater flexibility into the packages they offer, hopefully subsidising cheaper tickets by generating revenue from the (inevitable) corporate seats.

Hicks & Gilette probably trying to introduce the North American sports ticket scheme.
For example the Hockey one is called "Ice pack", with that you have about four different packs of 7 or 8 matches that include a couple of BIG clubs and the rest mixed. The price depends on the SEAT, meaning you buy the pack and you keep the same seat for the whole package.
LFC will assign particular seats for them packs so that would not interfere with ST holder seats.
For example : Pack 1 : Manu, Chelsea, Tottneham, A Villa, Bolton, Wigan, Sunderland, Derby
Pack 2 : Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, M'Boro, West Ham, Birmingham, Manc City & Reading.
So on and so forth.
When I was living in Vancouver a mate of mine and another bought 2 seats and started using the packs with their lasses, they split the price of 1200$/Cad and divvied up the Hockey games.
LFC can do something similar because it is a good idea for someone who can not afford the 650£ ST.

Interesting point but, in both those examples, the cheaper pricing is generally based on early booking of the product, with the price rising as capacity is filled. I would be very much against a severe reduction in the number of available tickets for individual games. Selling tickets in batches wouldn't be about helping fans; it would be about ensuring that revenue was generated for smaller games that they fear won't fill a new stadium (Boro mid-week this April, anyone?).
