Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho has hailed Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard as one of the world's best.

Although The Reds missed out on Premiership and UEFA Champions League glory this season, their midfield schemer was again in masterful form.

Gerrard's exploits in England have not gone unnoticed and while Ronaldinho concedes Cristiano Ronaldo is right up there he believes it is the Liverpool man who sits firmly on top of the talent tree.

"Cristiano is a great player. But Steven Gerrard is, for me, one of the very best in the world," he told Zoo magazine.

"For the job he performs, for me, he is one of the greatest."

Meanwhile, Ronaldinho has not given up winning the Liga title with Barcelona despite a disastrous set of results at the weekend.

Raul Tamudo held Barca to a late home draw while Real Madrid claimed a last-gasp point at Real Zaragoza to retain their advantage of the top of the table.

"We had the chance to be very well placed and we've let important points slip away, but we're still fighting," he concluded.

I put this up in an attempt to break the doom and gloom that's sucking the life out of this forum, when the worlds best player says he rates one of our own i think it's something positive. Trouble is posters like Reds08 don't want positive, they would rather spout ****e about the impending destruction of LFC.

Wait for the 'Ronaldinho's coming to Liverpool' rumours to start. We will then see pictures of him at Melwood even though he was actually playing for Barca at the time.
Then, my cousins, nephew's, best friends, girlfriends, sisters, mum works as a sweeper at Anfield and will confirm to us that he is coming.

I have to say I do not like your tone. All I'm trying to do is bring a bit of realism to the board, we have to see the light. We are in the ****, there's no hiding from this fact. The only thing keeping the board morale going is speedy's Voronin love-in, and mildly humourous as it is, despite all the talk we HAVE ONLY SIGNED VORONIN. LFC is a club with massive, massive problems.
