No better replacement for Sami, in my book. Sami has been brilliant but he will lose his starting place sooner rather than later.

Quality defender. Would bring that much sought after pace to the centre of our defense and he wouldn't cost much as he wants away from Chelsea and his contract is running out.

He'll be wanting huge wages however, probably in the region of £80-90k, which would pretty much mean he'll be on more than everybody save Gerrard - not sure Carragher and a few others would be too happy.

He is an excellent defender however. If he leaves Chelsea then I'd have thought Arsenal would be his choice. But he'd walk into virtually any team.

Is he out of contract next summer? If so he'll be a good signing for nothing.
There's no point even discussing buying him right now. Chelsea are clearly happy to leave him in the reserves rather than sell to a rival. They wouldn't even let him go to Arsenal as part of the Cole deal!
