    O'Donnell joins Crewe

From the Offal, mods please delete if this has already been posted.

Liverpool have announced that centre half Danny O'Donnell has joined Crewe Alexandra after a successful loan spell last season.
The former Academy centre half spent the entire 2006/2007 campaign on loan with the League One side and made a big impression under manager Dario Gradi.

O'Donnell was spotted playing in the local amateur leagues by Liverpool scouts in 2002, and made the move to train full-time at Melwood in the summer of 2005.

He was a regular member of the reserve team squad but his only first team appearances came in pre-season friendlies against Wrexham and Crewe Alexandra.

Good luck to Danny at Crewe, shame another academy player who's not up to the required standard. ( how many of these have there been )

Did we get any money for him?

BTW, it's quite ironic, because in pre-season last year he was by far the best young CH. Outshone Antwi and Hobbs (who to be fair played the whole season @ DM).

Best of luck to him. He could do much worse than Crewe.

Doesn't say anything about a fee so would imagine it's next to nothing if anything. He did look a decent prospect, it makes you wonder about the gap between academy star and making it into the first team. Guthrie looks to be off to Southampton and things have gone quiet on Anderson as well!

Yeah, Anderson was pretty crap last year. Having trouble making the step up. I think we'll give him one more year though. He deserves it.
