    Shopping at Aldi...............again.

The last couple of weeks have been hard there’s nothing worse than playing the waiting game especially when you feel like your arch rivals have stolen a march on us in the transfer market AGAIN, and than just like previous seasons news slowly filters through that there wont be the significant funds in place to purchase the World class number 9 that we so desperately need, its another kick in the teeth but we should be getting used to it by now. Liverpool don't do 20 million + transfers but we can be forgiven for being so optimistic when we spent 8 million on that Brazilian kid out of the blue and Gillet and Hicks have promised the best, so maybe there is still hope.

So today instead of wondering whether we are going to sign Villa or Eto etc. i wondered who in World football was available at the right price, its easy to start banging names off but we know there is now a certain level of class required in three key positions LM, RM, and striker. Even IF we only have the same budget as previous seasons 20 million i think we should raise 12 million in sales filling these key position on such a budget wont be easy but Rafa can do it up front Michael Owen is available for a measly 9 million and if we have any sense we will put him through the toughest medical possible and sign the lad up. At right wing if Guily is ready to quit Barca for the reported 1.5 million at 31 he has huge experience and his lack of appearances for Barca this season can only make him hungrier. These are two World class players available at the moment for very little money that would imo have a huge impact on the team.

Two good calls IMHO. Add in Simao and we are all set.

        Shopping at Aldi...............again.

Although the price may be cheaper, certain items can do the job just aswell as their more expensive counterparts.

Household brand names aren't always the best

        Trust the buyer!

There isn't such a thing as the right price when Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea are are looking for another striker.

Stupid prices are the norm. Look at Malouda Tevez and Eto'o.

Mention 3 premiership clubs and the price almost doubles..

attitude is much more important than any price. you could waste a fortune on someone like diouf or get a bargain like hyypia.

Great shout, buy the 2 of them. Big fan of Guily and Michael Owen is a must. I would have said Mark Viduka on a free if we didn't have Peter and already sign Voronin on a better than Aldi, freebe.

You are right, a lot of people need to understand that if we are to move into Manures league that we will have to overpay like they do (17m for Carrick ).

As long as we get the players that complete the jigsaw. That is what is important. If we can save a few bucks by going for Simao rather than Malouda, then that is fine too.

As long as you stay away from the fruit, you should be fine.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Dead on mate, everyone says they want Eto or Henry but both are very temperamental imo. You just have to look at Beckham to see what the right attitude can achieve.

Do we get a 12 month warrantee if we're conned into signing Owen?

IF possible i personally would part ex Gonzo for Milito (striker variety), part ex Cisse for Simao, swap Bellers for Owen and stump up the cash for Malouda. 4 class signings, even with the huge doubts over Owens fitness and improves the team where we need it, the final 3rd of the pitch.

So to sum this thread up, we should buy Giuly and Owen, both of whose best years are behind them and both of whom are hideously injury prone, and Simao, who is hideously overrated and would still cost over £10m
