    serious title contenders??

ok i know its early in the transfer window and to date we have not done much. should we panic?, i dont think so, rafa will do something soon i think, maybe even this week. we are being linked with just about everybody with a spanish passport.

realistically who will we get?? more importantly who do we need. we need at least 4 big players to come in. a top class finisher two wingers and maybe some cover at the back. if we dont get these we will struggle to mount a realistic challenge again next season.

torres, teves, owen, eto'o, bent....... i think eto'o is out of the question if he is going to cost 35 million plus. owen is a little injury prone mercenary but he can finish and at 9 million its not a bad deal all the same. teves and torres are expensive too but would still come less than eto'o. but **** it, we need a striker so its going to cost us.. i like bent he scores goals even in a **** side, he is quick, not bad in the air but looks overpriced. if we could do a deal involving carson then maybe. but if carson goes we dont have much cover between the sticks. dudek is going.

we are only really being linked with that milito lad in defence and i do like what i have seen about him, his brother can ****in stay put mind you!!!!

on the wing the most important thing is to get rid of kewell, i dont know how, maybe collect token s with kellogs cornflakes for your club scheme or somethin like that. no doubt when he does leave he will be a good player again and rafa seems to like him or is it just we have nobody else on the left wing worth talkin about!! is malouda the answer?? looks a decent player but a bidding war is going to happen there. rafa does not like to pay over the odds, he is a thick **** like that and would move to another target.

mancini can play left or right i think and could be a good option especially if we can offload bellamy as part of the deal.

champions league money, premier league money, players out, new owners pumping in a few pound, new tv deals for premiersip teams, surely we have a healthy enuf kitty??? 50 million i hope is available..

whoever we get i will support rafa's judgement. he is a good manager and capable of taking us to no 19 cos thats what we all want deep down.

our new yank buddies should give him the money and lets get going and challenge whiskey nose and his merry band of complete ******s. **** i hate them mank *******s!!!

bottom line, if we dont make the big signings were not going to challenge, you cant run with the bid dogs if your still pissing like a puppy!!!

He is a good manager but personally, I don't think he'll stay around long enough to really understand how to win the PL.

He's a great manager but I get the feeling he will never be truely happy at any club he goes to.

I think he'll be off sooner rather than later.

I honestly think that we need only three players. Two creative attacking midfielders out wide and a pacy, clinical forward. We have an excellent back 7, with options and reserves. Look at the United squad last year - it wasn't full of great players but it had an excellent first 11 and squad players who new how to play the team pattern.

In my opinion we now have the later what we need is some attacking guile to unlock teams with packed defences and a bit of added clinicality to finish off teams we have on the rack (like United at Anfield or Chelsea at the bridge last year).

I think that Rafa deserves the chance to add this to the side he has constructed and that he will if given the backing be able to find players who can add this to our team. I also think that he likes the idea of a long term project and if allowed to do the things he thinks will allow us to challenge for the league in the next two seasons then he will stay for a long time and leave a great legacy.

Dave, you're far to sensible and reasonable to be on here!

i think with the addition of 2 or 3 top players in the attack we would get no 19. however im not so sure if the funds are available to get these players.

You're right, we gotta have at least £50million available before player sales.

                    - Investment probably gives us about £25m (conservative estimate)
                    - Extra TV revenue £10m?
                    - CL run £15m?

                    = £50m

                    + Sell Cisse £6.5m, Pongo £2.7m, Bellamy £9m, Gonzalez £4m, Le Tallec £1m for a combined £23m

                    = £73m - Not unrealistic IMO

We should not panic, we've already made serious in-roads into the ransfer market.

I think we're going to add Bent and Benayoun to our squad. That will give us Bent, Benayoun,THE CROW, Leto, Lucas and Insua to add to our squad from last year.

We'll be able to compete next year

Why? What makes you think they are so strong this year???
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
