I thought gillett mean the core players have been offered new contracts.I dont think Gillett meant the other players as I cannot see Finnan not being offered a new contract.

I think "phase 1" related to the players Rafa identified as essential, which has been done.

I'm sure contracts have been offered to Momo and Finnan, but getting them tied up is not as essential as the other 4.

I hope Momo stays, although with the added competition for places, his game will have to move up another level (and remember he is still very young) or else he will be sold.

Finnan is a core player. Solid as a rock and so underrated.

Hope Momo stays put. He was still developing as a player just before injuries/masc came along.
