So what actually *is* a broadside? You never hear the word being used in real life. Ever. I only know what it means having deciphered it as a youngster when I saw all these "Yallop fires Goss broadside" type headlines.

I only know one person who knows Shearer, and he said he's a really decent bloke. The person in question was a trainee at Newcastle for 3 years.

As for title tattle, I don't listen to it and anyway whatever Shearer may or may not be, as far as I'm aware he hasn't been up before the beak for hitting a woman and he hasn't threatened a team mate with a golf club.
