He was very funny. I'm sorry fellas but he meant it and it if he was really wanting to be funny, he shouldn't have said it in a back handed manner.Originally posted by Red_hot View PostJeez Louise mate! He wasn't being funny with you!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhh
It's getting ridiculous to be fair and I'm sick of it. That really would put me off of supporting this team in the long term. This kind of simple mindedness just blows me away.

Just read all this thread some very interesting points brought up, but i'm not sure what purpose it serves now, says something for lack of other LFC news that this is one of the most active threads on here.
To me what's needed to be said has been said and most of the posts past about page 2 or 3 are not really solving anything, i'd either close it or move it somewhere else so it can die down now, just my opinion like.Thomas Hicks Senior

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Fredo, the Internet is a cross representation of society and as such not everyone is going to live up to your expectations. Also the written word on the Internet leaves a lot to be desired. People will interpret it how they want to. Let it go. It's just not worth thrashing it out to the enth degree.Originally posted by fredo View PostHe was very funny. This wasn't meant as an insult. He just meant that Liverpool FC needs a global fan base to remain truly competitive.Originally posted by reddragon View Postok i think i've aired my opinion so I'm going to do some feckin DIY or somethin.
Fredo mate, I'm sure you must be a good Red [posting 9000 odd times from Mauritius!]. You're the kind of fan that LFC needs to compete with the likes of the Mancs and Madrid etc. I suppose it's a consequence of attracting your type of fan that the issues surrounding Hillsborough aren't fully understood/agreed with by our entire fanbase. Unfortunately it's just something the regular matchgoing fan like myself will have to get used to.
Hope you stick around mate - this forum is for the likes of you who can't have the arguments in the Sandon like the rest of us!!
It's only natural that the further away someone is from an event, in miles or years, the more detached the feelings. The news coverage is less intense and there is less likelihood of knowing someone directly affected. Objectivity about a subject is easier when experiencing it through education rather than personal experience.
This remains an extemely sensitive subject and so provokes proportionately passionate responses.

sorry mate if you took this the wrong way. Of course I meant what I said, but it wasn't meant in a back handed way. You ARE a good Red [I said it - i meant it], and as someone born and bred in Liverpool, and been a match going fan for 30 odd years I am able to see the growth of our fanbase from the inside. When I first started going the match we couldn't even sell out the stadium half the time, and there certainly wasn't many fans like you who supported our team so well from such a distance. My point was that you have that distance, and therefore it's a fact that you can't have the match going experience that is essential to understand the facts and thus the emotions surrounding Hillsborough. It doesn't make you any less of a fan i hasten to add.Originally posted by fredo View PostHe was very funny. However, your points about being abused by other posters was a valid one only until you started abusing others yourself. I am certainly not 'simple minded' and there was no need to ask me to 'get out more' [as there was no need to call Niel Young an arse - whther he is one or not!]. I'm sure you're getting royally fed up of this subject, as i am, so lets start arguing over whether or not Torres is the answer to our goalscoring woes!

It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'
