    Paul Ince

    Has become MK Dons manager today, but that's not what this is about.

    Watching a game on ESPN Classic the other day got me thinking about him (to be honest I'd probably forgot he played for us). But was he actually quite good?

    The game was away to Villa when we won 4-2 and Ince scored a header in the first minute. Thinking back about him, I don't think we ever got over the fact that he played for the Mancs. He was never going to have his name sung on the Kop now was he?

    I remember him for scoring that last minute equaliser against the Mancs when we'd come from 2-0 down, and the fact that that pissed off Ferguson a hell of a lot.

    He had rows with Houllier (although he wasn't to be the first or last) but he actually did OK didn't he?

    I remember him being described as the infamous 'final piece of the jigsaw' when Roy Evans signed him, as it was a time when we needed bite in midfield, and of course this was before Stevie G.

    Just something I'm randomly musing on because I'm bored of all the transfer talk.

    My attitude to Paul Ince is if that he had been half as good for us as he thought he'd have been twice as good as he was.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

            Bollocks - Ince did well for us - always went out and gave it his all , which was a hell of a lot more than some of the squad at that time . And who could forget that equaliser , after all the "big time charlie" **** from Ferguscum .

              He was ****e - well past it when he signed for us.... self proclaimed 'Guvnor' my arse
              All talk & nothing else - getting rid of him & making him train with the youngsters was one of the best things GH did at Anfield

                  Could not stand him. Just did not look right in a Liverpool shirt. Cannot fault his commitment in 'some' of the games though.

                      He had some cracking games for us; but was clearly not the same player he'd been a couple of years earlier, and his attitude to his team mates and staff weren't meant to be very poor. NOT a LFC type player.

                          Looks like it was a decent topic to start in my boredom. If the bloke who was sat in front of me in the Paddock when Paul Ince scored that goal against the Mancs is on here, then I'm sorry for jumping on you and causing your glasses to fall off, and then jumping up and down on your glasses and breaking them into a million pieces.

                            I had completely forgotten that he even played for us!! When it came on the news I thought "Manc Nob"

                              Of all the players who ever played for us, there is no-one I disliked more than Ince (although El Hadji Diouf comes pretty close).

                              I just try to forget he ever played for us and even now it sickens me that John Barnes was forced out on a free transfer to make way for him.
