What I will agree with is that it shows that our scouting network is working really hard to identify players foir the future and also Rafa and A.N.Other are doing a fantastic job selling the club to these young lads to make them want to uproot and come over here..
I hear what you are saying and tend too agree, 95% of these youngsters will not make a significant impact. However, a real "Gem" could come through.

The other point of note, our Academy has be portrayed as the best facilities around, but there are no real "Gems" coming through, you have to ask yourself why......... But leading on from there, this lack of excellent talent coming through has left a major vacuum in our system. This has been pinpointed by Rafa and he is making major moves to fix the problem area.

Exactly, he´s been at the club for five mins. and already likened to Owen, Fowler and Villa Mind you, he looks darn good!
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Because I can see similarities in style of running and finishing to our great master finisher, doesn't mean I place the heavy burden of expectation on the poor sod.
Might as well have my memory erased if I can't draw comparisons anymore.
Having said that, I did my best to erase what's left last night, but can't remember where or by how much

I cant see the Owen likeness though (as mentioned earlier in this thread)

Are you trying to wind me up - coz you're doing a good job.

Not only did I NOT mention 'experience' in my first post but I also never mentioned the fee for Le Gems !! I KNOW they cost £6m so you can stop 'Ahem(ing)' and feeling superior. And if you don't mind, I'd be grateful if you would stop second guessing my posts and putting words in my mouth.
                Liverpool born and bred.

Plus god knows how much we spent developing their academy. Think it was £5m offhand

Doesn't make you cringe to say that word after all we had been thru with Ged calling his youngesters that?

Yes, it does, but it is very descriptive; taking some raw and uncut and cutting and polishing it into something to be treasured

                        Great film

Anyway, good work by the scouts, this is exactly the sort of thing we should be doing. What are Barca whinging about? They stole the lad from Malaga when he was ****ing 12 So we're stealing him from them, **** happens

It's not as if Messi was born in Barcelona is it? A case of double standards me thinks

                            The "Killer" signs

No, not the serial killer that was Diouf:

Liverpool have raided Barcelona to sign one of their prized young talents in the shape of Dani Pacheco.

The 16-year-old, nicknamed The Killer by his team-mates, was regarded as one of the best youngsters in the youth set-up at Camp Nou and only arrived as a 13-year-old from Malaga.

However, he has shunned their offer of professional terms in order to pen a three-year deal at Anfield.

Youth coach Garcia Pimienta admitted losing Pacheco was a huge blow to the club.

"It is a great loss for the club because he is a forward with a lot of quality," Garcia told Sport.

"He has been our top goalscorer and has already played for the youth team. "Alongside Thiago Alcantara and Gai Assulin, he is one of the cadets we had the most hope for, but nothing can be done anymore.

                            "Everything happened very suddenly."

The news of Pacheco's departure to England is another blow to Barca, who have lost a host of top youngsters to the Premier League in recent seasons.

The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Fran Merida and Gerard Pique have all turned their back on the Blaugrana to make the move to the English top-flight.

                            Forwards.......

Mods, sorry didn't see the thread in the transfer rumours section. As he's signed it's not a rumour though is it? Anyhow, please delete.

                              Forwards.......

Looks very promising- good move scouts.

What with the new stadium, Torres (hopefully) & now this, things are finally starting to look much brighter for us.
                                3rd place. Worst champions ever.
