maybe not, but thats also assuming we aren't bringing in another LW with our new found wealth, i doubt we will tho, i think Kewell is actually gonna do somthing next season, apart from pull/tear/snap somethingOriginally posted by SpeedyG View PostI've seen Leto and he is just a tall Riise. I don't think he will make much of an impact.Thomas Hicks Senior

I agree. I've seen all his games since he recovered and he has been special in all of them. Fingers crossedOriginally posted by Morphorino View Postmaybe not, but thats also assuming we aren't bringing in another LW with our new found wealth, i doubt we will tho, i think Kewell is actually gonna do somthing next season, apart from pull/tear/snap something

And then he sold Warnock a couple of months later. Rafa has used Aurelio mostly at left back. He adapted extremely well in the second half of the season, and he brings a huge amount to our approach play. His crossing is out of this world. Injuries permitting, we could have a real star on our hands.Babel fan club member #19

Where did you hear this? We sold Warnock so I have my doubts about this tbh. I guess Rafa could have been telling a white lie. I really think Aurelio looked good as a fullback and it would genuinely surprise me if he hadn't been bought with at least a thought to his ability to play there.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostRafa told Warnock last season that he didn't bring in Fabio to compete with him but to play him at LM. That said we have Arbeloa and Riise to play that position. Arbeloa is definitely a part-timer there, so I would not be suprised if we brought in Heinze."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It was a quote from Warnock at the beginning of the season. It was probably on the offal.Originally posted by dww View PostWhere did you hear this? We sold Warnock so I have my doubts about this tbh. It depends on the team we play in my opinion, he never got anywhere near the credit he deserved in our league match v arsenal at home, he was imense in that game, and might well have got the mom award if it hadn't been for crouchies performance, i think there's definately room around our first team for himOriginally posted by RPAS View PostDon't think Aurelio is worth a starting slot. He's not a good enough defender to play left-back and also not good enough attacking to play left-midfield/wing.Thomas Hicks Senior

His recovery is going according to plan, and he should be ready in 6 to 7 weeks.Originally posted by biggidawg View PostFabio Aurelio, when is he planning on being back from his ankle injury??

Anyone know any other footballers who ruptured their achilles and made a full recovery? I remember when he picked up the injury, a few 'pros' said it can end a players career. Even if it doesn't end it physically, just have a bad feeling that psychologically it might be as good as over.Originally posted by Maestro View PostHis recovery is going according to plan, and he should be ready in 6 to 7 weeks.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I know, it was an over the top tackle by the Premiership grass to rupture his tendon.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostHope the lad recovers well but even before he signed I thought he is not suited to the physical Premiership.
We have 2 injury prone LW in he & Kewell & 2 decent LB in Riise & Arbeloa. No wonder RAFA is looking to strengthen that side.
Nah, I know what you mean, but he did start to look tasty before he picked up the injury. Not as good as most people seem to be hyping him up to be recently, but definitely good enough. If he had of had a full season to get used to the Premiership, improved his defending a bit, we could have been looking at a very decent player for this season. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I do agree with you, he was finding his form for us when the injury happened. We'll see how he gets on after his injury.18-5-7-8-3
