Great performance and Bellers was robbed a goal IMO. Kuyt looked class as the doubters(WC watchers) have been told he is. Pennant was excellent. But I was dissappointed with Stevie and Xabi. Stevie was still ok but I think neither him or Xabi took control of the midfield and their passing was poor, apart from 2 belter passes from Stevie in the first half.

As for Speedy, I think he needs to run at players more. His short passing is off. When he tore up Real Madrid it was all about him taking ont he fullbacks and getting crosses in.

To be fair it was just offside for Bellers
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done REDS coming back from behind once again to win the game.
My tuppence worth on the new lads

Aurelio : Loves to get stuck in, good defender and good going forward BUT his distributions is awful.

Pennant : Impressed by the lad so far, he knows when to take on a man and when to send in a early cross, his work rate is excellent as well. Lost count on how many times he helped Finnan at the back by winning possession.

Gonzalez : Did alright. Would have liked him to take on a man but he did not do that much. Likes to get stuck in as well which is good. He helped out in defence as well. Can do better in the final third of the pitch.

Kuyt : Absolute hit he will be. Links up well, tracks back and not afraid to have a dig. He came on for 35 minutes and had 4 shots on goal.
I've been saying for 2 summers now he will be good for us and today he showed a bit of what he can do for the REDS.

                  WALK ON

Aurelio looks very good, but he can't just stand back and let them pick out their crosses with no pressure. Apart from that he looks very promising. All our new signings look good.

I was one of his doubters (though not a "WC watcher"), and I was pleasantly surprised today. I think he will do very well.

We have 3 quality strikers now...Crouch, Bellamy, Kuyt...I'm quite convinced Rafa has finally solved our problems up front

                      We'll see...

I didn't think it was. There was no clear daylight at all between them.

Not to mention the Kuyt decision the same ref got wrong.

I've got to say, that goal Bellamy had disallowed, was an exquisite finish.

we were piss poor in the second half, only positive was kuyt, and boy he looked great!!!!

Bellamy always offside, we were missplaceing passes and were poor defensively, the were able to boss us around, we were to open at the back, we really missed sissoko in the middle, xabi was not good, the ref was on their side though, but we need to do alot better if we are going to go somewhere this season...

                                Some positives from today -

Kuyt - a star in the making. Energetic, keen, can head the ball strongly, has pace, will make a huge impact on the team.
Agger - fantastic goal, has obviously settled well into the side.
Bellamy - never gave up, kept running and trying till the final whistle. Never stopped moaning!
Pennant - had a good game, lots of pace, good crosses
Gonzales - settling in well, quick up the wing. Will do well in the side.

                                Negatives -

Reina - Goalkeeping error cost us a clean sheet, but made up for it later.
Alonso - Obviously out of sorts, hasn't looked right since the end of the summer break.
Gerrard - Not on top form yet.
Carra - defense looks deidedly wobbly without him in the line up. Shows how much we depend on him at the back to keep it strong.

We didn't play as convincingly as we had hoped, but got 3 points anyway. International duties are going to have an effect on the team, but hopefully we will start to produce more convincing performances soon.
