    League Title

Is ours this year. Even more so now the mancs have topped up a overly attacking side with....more attackers

We will have a good start to the season after FINALLY learning our lesson and then continue like a relentless machine to grind our way to our first league title for many a year but the first of many more under rafa

Personally I think we will come second this year, but will win it next time around. Our new players will need a little bit of time to adapt.

can't really see it. it'll take more than one trophy signing to get close next season. We were so far off the pace last one that it'll take a huge improvement.

That attacker just happens to be a fantastic finisher and a very creative player.

I think Rooney and Tevez will be a fantastic partnership upfront for them if they sign him
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think we have meade more than one huge signing since the start of last season. Mascher have arrived, and shown that he`s quality. Arbeloa has also done well.Torres, Voronin and LL are new to the PL, so they will probably need some time.
The key for me is Kewell and Pennant. Kewell back on form is like new signing, and if Pennant continues where he ended last season we have two good wingers.
The important part is to hit the deck running, and I feel we`re better equiped to that this season than the last.

                  My sentiments an' all.

We simply must eradicate those games where we look disinterested and end up dropping stupid points against lesser opposition. Those games - more than any other - do my fookin' head in!

I think we could have increased our points tally even without reinforcements this summer.
The players would be more gelled and lessons from last season would/will be learned.
And on top of that Stevie's gonna be good and rested and on fire like hell this season.
Don't mind the reinforcements though, and can't ****in wait until it kicks off again.

I think the key is in what Rafa said last week and yesterday. He has the spine of the team in place and just needs the flair & balance i.e wingers. If he can bring in at least one high calibre wide player Simao/Mancini/Queresma then I really think we have a chance. The important thing is to hit the ground running so Rafa needs to pick his strongest team from the start and slowly integrate the new signings.
                      Dare we believe

All the signings in the world wont stop Rafa paying two defensive midfielders away from home at Boro.

We need 2 more players & two more years.

You would have to say, this side can at the very least challenge for the title....

                            -------Torres--Kuyt
                            Quaresma----------Gerrard
                            ------Alonso--Masher
                            Riise--Agger--Carra--Finnan
                            ----------Reina

Especially with Crouch, Pennant, Kewell, Sissoko, Hyppia and Arbeloa being used as well.

I like the optimism of this thread. Sadly I'm with the pessimists and am far from convinced.
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
