passing a credit check does no damage to your credit rating

Actually too many credit checks can make you look hungry for credit so you can potentially strat being refused loans/CC and mortgages just because of that.

In fact if you applied for 3 loans within a couple of days of each other (or at least had the credit check done) but didn't take them out you would appear credit hungry, the refusal would not be on affordability as you would not have borrowed the money as yet but on the number of credit checks done by lenders.

If you have a credit card and clear the balance every month it will make very little difference to your credit rating unless you have too many credit cards then it will have an adverse effect for companies that use credit scoring systems (becoming more common). The best way to get your credit rating up is to keep a balance on your credit card and pay off a small amount each month therefore showing you can be trusted with credit.

Ordered two yesterday and they arrived about 10 mins ago. Bill states full amount but credit card statement shows only the £20.60 for one and £17 for the other. There is a credit back from Littlewoods for the discounts. Excellent.

By the way, the codes we are all using (and we have been successfully), work on other products as well. The first code of ZQ is a code that can only be used once ( but this can be easily got around by using another email address ) and the 2nd code, XX is 10% for everyone.
