The man in Black (Green/Yellow etc)

Dermot Gallagher was meant to ref our game tomorrow but due to the Ben Thatcher incident he's been benched by Ref's boss Keith Hacket.

He's pretty good as a ref and we could get Poll instead

Who is your favorite? Who do you dread? Got any good ref baiting stories?

Well at least our guys can get stuck in, safe in the knowledge they have 3 chances and not two, to get sent off.

          A good ref thread!

Shame Gallagher won't take the game tomorrow - I quite like him. He can be excused for missing Thatcher's sickening assualt - these things happen.

My favourite was Paul Durkin, until he ludicrously had to retire. Obviously Collina was the best ref of all time. Magnificent.

I also had a soft spot for Mike Reed. Remember him? He was the little fella who, when we scored at Anfield, jumped up and punched the air with delight! He claimed it was because he was pleased with himself for allowing play to go on, but I never believed him....

I quite like that young lad Mark Clattenburg - he seems to be shaping up to be an excellent ref. The best one in the country, for my money, is Steve Baines; a former lower league player and the only ex-player currently reffing. He knows the game and handles the players brilliantly, but is for some reason continually ignored by the Premiership's top brass and remains only on the lower league list.

I used to hate Graham Poll but he's alright really. He's far from being the worst. Could never stand Jeff Winter, and bizarrely he annoys me even more now he's hung up his whistle.

Mike Riley, obviously, is a complete prick.

Uriah Rennie is rubbish too. He reffed a few games in the Sunday League I used to play in - memorable, perhaps obviously, for being the only black referee we ever saw at that level and in those days, and also for the manner in which he brandished his cards.

I can't believe I've just typed so much about referees.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

' He has football in his blood ' said a scout who was trying sell a player to Liverpool. ' You may be right ' Shanks said, ' but it hasn't reached his legs yet '

Referee aside, we should win anyway.
