A hat-trick from 19-year-old striker Besian Idrizaj has sent the Reds in 3-0 at half-time during their first pre-season friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground.

The tall Austrian was in unstoppable form during the opening 45 minutes, with Jermaine Pennant also impressing with a trio of assists.

Argentine centre-back Gabriel Paletta tried to make it four with a 50-yard blast, but his effort sailed harmlessly over the bar.
