HT. 3-0 to us, Bez with the hatrick. He should have 4.

BES THE HALF-TIME HAT-TRICK HERO
Jimmy Rice 07 July 2007
A hat-trick from 19-year-old striker Besian Idrizaj has sent the Reds in 3-0 at half-time during their first pre-season friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground.
The tall Austrian was in unstoppable form during the opening 45 minutes, with Jermaine Pennant also impressing with a trio of assists.
Argentine centre-back Gabriel Paletta tried to make it four with a 50-yard blast, but his effort sailed harmlessly over the bar.Betfair refer and earn code: CCUPPKJHF

First of all, terrific stream. Watching the high quality one and it's crystal clear, hasn't needed to buffer once
Here's what I think of the 1st half performances...
David Martin - had a dodgy moment when he did a Pepe but was covered by the defence, other than that nothing notable never really tested
Steve Finnan - pretty reliable as usual
Gabriel Paletta - uncompromising as always, poor positioning he has become known for didn't really rear it's head today
Jack Hobbs - tidy defending
Alvaro Arbeloa - not much to remark on defensively but came close to scoring after Hammill put him through
Jermaine Pennant - Man of the first half, was given space, time, and service, and used it brilliantly. Beat people and used the quality of his crossing to great effect.
Lee Peltier - unremarkable if tidy performance
Momo Sissoko - brilliant athleticism and destructive ability wasn't ever going to come into play as much as usual with it being a pre-season game but was there to see nonetheless, the odd scrappy pass
Adam Hammill - didn't get the service Pennant did, but when he did or when he made space for himself it was a mixed bag, general play good but end product was mediocre
Jordy Brouer - tidy play, laying things off for others etc
Besian Idrizaj - got into good positions and was clinical, feasted on Pennant's crossing for his hatrickLast edited by Red_Polo; 07-07-07, 04:00 PM.Like blood on iron
