If we want a reasitic shot at the title this year we need 2 of that calibre plus a proven Prem goalscorer (Owen). None or our strikers are proven goalscorers in the Prem (granted Torres hasn't had the chance to prove what he can do yet - but it is entirely possible he could struggle in his 1st year).Comment

Wasnt it confirmed the other day that WHU had bid £9m for Cisse?
If that was true, then you'd hope we'd have got at least that from Marseille too. You'd like to think we wouldnt accept a lower bid than that of WHU's...unless of course we already had it agreed with Marseille and/or Cisse made it clear he'd only go to them and not WHU.Comment

Apparently £6m was agreed last summer with Marseille. But They were trying it on with a £4m bid and we were generating ineterest elsewhere and trying to put the price up to at least £8m. So I don't know whether we tore up the £6m agreement....Comment
