our strikers are good enough to win the prem maybe not 50 goals between them cos we are defensive minded. all our forwards well i should say the 3, i have seen play, kuyt,torres and crouch all play behind the ball, hold the ball up and bring others into the game, something michael owen doesent. Kewell can have a solid season if he stays fit you dont rate him i do. i think we both agree on pennant that he is not up to it. give me simao, he can play both flanks. im done with this thread now mate. you think owen is the answer. i think he is a **** and past it

Owen may / may not be the answer - that's not my point. Another PROVEN consistent goalscorer IS the answer to prevent us being out of the title race by November. ANd 2 top class wingers. Anything less and we'll be ****ed off again this time next year that we still haven't got close to another title.

WRT Kewell - he will be always what he was (even at Leeds) - a player that flatters to deceive (Leeds' fans words not mine). I hope he finally proves them and me wrong.

Yes I did suggest Owen...and he's likely to be the best of the bunch available in that particular price bracket

Yes - we were consistently sh*t last year. Because we lacked a true goalscorer and quality creativity in wide areas- exactly the reason why it needs to be addressed

With the signings of Torres and Voronin we have more than enought quality up front. There's absolutely no need for another striker so people calling for a fifth striker who is prem proven is complete nonsense.

Who says Voronin's a striker? I'm not sure any of us know for sure. Opinion seems to be divided as to whether he's a striker or Att MF (a la Garcia). If that IS the case we need a goalscorer.

According to everything I've seen of him he's a striker. That's certainly what he's been signed as.

There's no need for us to be signing someone like Michael Owen or any other striker. 4 strikers is more than enough.

What we need now is good quality in the wide areas and not more striing additions.
