i think it's a given that we can buy him outright next summer for a fixed fee presuming he wants to stay. but is the lure of barca, milan, madrid still gonna be too much for him after a couple of years? is he even trying to learn english?

Well, in a couple of years you would hope he is signed onto a long-term contract and playing for a title-challenging side, so I wouldn't so much worry about the other teams. Also, the way he has spoken in the media makes me think he is happy playing for Liverpool and feels like a part of the team proper.

As for learning English, I should think that was a given.
