Tbh I'm more worried about the possibility that there is no fixed fee agreed than I am about him wanting to go elsewhere. He's shown a willingness to succeed in the Prem so I don't envisage him going abroad just yet.

Shouldn't forget also that we effectively saved him from exile at West Ham. I'd hope there would be some loyalty.

No chance. He'll go where he's told and that will be to the club offering Kia the most money

Javier Mascherano believes Fernando Torres will score the goals to fire Liverpool towards a Premier League title assault.

Mascherano has been celebrating himself recently, after scoring twice in the Copa America, and the Argentine believes goals will not be in short supply at club level following the arrival of Liverpool's new £20million signing.

"Fernando's arrival will be very positive," Mascherano told the Daily Star.

"He will complement the great team we already have in place very well, he is a brilliant player.

"He will be useful to create chances, he will make us more dangerous in attack and I'm sure that he will score quite often."

Mascherano's goals came in Argentina's recent Copa America victories against Peru and Paraguay, but the holding midfielder does not feel this is a sign of things to come.

"My Argentina team-mates have been joking with me for scoring two goals," added the 23-year-old.

"They are only the fifth and sixth goals of my career as I'm not a goal scorer.

"Of course now I have to score one for Liverpool.

"I hope I score for the Reds soon, but I know that is not my duty, let's leave that to Fernando."

Mascherano has also praised Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez for giving him a second chance in English football.

"I will always be grateful to Liverpool for giving me back the joy of playing. My gratitude towards them will never end" concluded Mascherano.

i know this appears to be a positive comment but it sounds to me like he doesn't plan on staying.
