How long will it be before we have no local lad or even no English lads in the team - I'm sorry but I would like number 19 to include some home grown talent.

Name an English (or British) player who we could realistically look to sign and who would improve us.

You really have to scrape the barrel. Maybe someone like Michael Dawson (if we're targeting a centre-back), but even then he'd be hideously priced and I can't imagine LFC fans would be unanimously thrilled about it.

Seriously I would take SWP - Richards or the other fella from Man City. Beyond that I do not know.....
the thing is since Fowler or Owen we have not had anyone up front locally who is any good or who could have made it

Seriously the only players i'd entertain would be Lennon and SWP, neither of which are regulars the second deffo not, the only other players i'd look at, at all would be shrek and terry but we know there's no chance of those

tbh im not bothered where our players are from,obviously it would be good for the team and the city of liverpool to have locals in the team.
but if the talent isnt there what can be done,im sure its not that were deliberately avoiding english players.
its just,apart from players from the top 4 who wont sell to us,whos out there.

Apart from a few - how many could you add in as LFC through and through

British talent cost twice if not three times the price of foreign players.
If we look at the current crop

Richards
Onohua
Lennon
Downing
Nugnet
Lita
and many more, you will find that thier clubs ask for astronomical numbers. For example, Rafa wanted Micah Richards last season and was quoted 15£ m by Citeh. Outragous amount for a 19 year old who only had 1 Prem season under his belt.
The academy is not producing home talent as much as the club liked but in Spearing, Darby & Lindfield we have some potential.

Mate i'm almost certain it's the main reason, some clubs will have a problem if they aren't suitably prepared
