I recently had a typically self-righteous Spurs fan attempting to take the piss out of me/LFC for the amount of non-English players we're bringing in.

Name an English (or British) player who we could realistically look to sign and who would improve us.

You really have to scrape the barrel. Maybe someone like Michael Dawson (if we're targeting a centre-back), but even then he'd be hideously priced and I can't imagine LFC fans would be unanimously thrilled about it.

Can you remember just before he signed for spurs , DUNK said he went to a family wedding and found out dawson was part of his family

5 ****ing players.....no one can blame managers for buying foreign when the financial aspect of it makes so much sense. There needs to be a cap on wages and TFR fees. Max it out at £35 mill fee and £125,000 per week wages to be reviewed every 10 years.

There isn't the homegrown talent to win the league so I don;t care where it comes from. No 19 is all that matters.

Like most things in this country, our footballers are overpriced and you can better for less abroad. I couldn't give two ****s where our players come from as long as they give their all and are good enough.

Seiously though - of all the English players named on this thread....who would we realistically have a chance of buying in this transfer window?
Richards? Maybe...but at what price? Also RB is not a priority (and he is untested at CB as of yet) SWP... Chelsea will not sell him to us. Ditto Terry, J.Cole, Bridge. Spurs will not sell any of their English players to us either unless we pay STUPID fees. Maybe with the exception of Defoe, who most of us wouldn't want in any case.

Unfortunately, the cupboard is fairly bare for English targets for LFC.
