    Praise for an unsung hero

    Just want to say that i was again impressed by Steve Finnan today. For me the past 18 months he (along with Carra) has been the most steady performer for LFC. Often overlooked in players ratings/MOM awards i feel credit should be given where credit is due. For a player who was rumoured to be on his way out when Rafa arrived i think his attitude has been spot on.

      If we had a Finnan on the left, we'd be sorted. Finnan is brilliant

        Agreed, we now have Riise, strong and can score goals,Warnock, who loves a tackle and has a big heart, and Aurelio , who can take a great free kick and is good going forward, but can any of them really defend and position themselves consistently like Finnan does??

        I like all 3 of our Left Backs for different reasons but never feel 100% confident with any of them.

        However I am sure Rafa will sort them out

          Finnan was awesome today
          I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

            I wondered how his performance would come across on tv as you can't see everything they do. At the game I thought that agger and finnan were fantastic.
