    The beautiful game.

    Liverpool vs Westham UTD. - The perfect advert for football, in the way it should be played.

    Such a simple, yet, enthralling game.One ball, two goals,Millions of supporters worldwide and two teams going at it, hammer and tongs.

    None of this bullsh!t "lets park our team bus in front of the goal" mentality. End to end,highly entertaining,edge of your seat stuff.

    From the slick passing of Stevie G, to the pinpoint crossing of Pennance,the tenacity of bowyer,the strength of Reo coker and the desire of Dirk to crack his debut with a goal he will remember forever, amongst many others, this game conveyed all the attributes players need to create a high class football match.

    Two teams, who whenever recieved possesion of the ball, tried to push the other team back and tried to counter with menace at all other times(especially Liverpool) with slick, incisive, attacking intent.

    You've got to admire Westham and Pards for the way they play.

    A great advert for football.

    wasn´t great football, but it was entertaining, as in i was scared ****tless that they were going to score in the end...

      When they had a freekick and Teddy was going to take it I thought that we might concede.
      I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

        I thought it was good football bit nervous at times but enjoyed the game.

              Good match today but too open for Rafa's sake i'm sure. We should have controlled the match more in the second half but i do think that tiredness and lack of match fitness took it's toll. On another day we would have ran out with a cricket score in that match, so good was the performance on the whole.

                yeah not a bad game, thought we stopped playing though in the second half for some reason. We seemed to take the foot off the gas which is frustrating as hell especially for the last 10 minutes!
                well atleast we got the points!!
                Kuyt looked good, will prove a very useful addition to the squad!
                Keep on rocking in the free world!

                  We didn't stop playing. I think it's been a combination of West Ham playing well and Xabi / Stevie finding it hard to put their feet on the ball due to fatigue / lack of match sharpness. If we controlled the second half, we would have won it by a canter.

                  We still played decent though.

                      Gotta say, Reo Coker is a classy player. Very good on the ball, very clever with it and extremely strong. That lad is gonna go a long way
