a lot of different views there, when reading i thought of cisse unfortunately.

i am sure that the scouts have done their job and rafa sees him in a certain role for us. hes young and got time. might be a year or so before we see him at his best

Many people on that forum seem to think he is risk signing.

It's a tricky one.

Personally I would've splashed out 16m on Quaresma, rather than 5m on Benayoun and 11m on Babel.

Regardless of his age, 11m is an awful lot of money for a player who was in and out of a very average Ajax side last season.

The lack of goals worries me, I hope I'm wrong.

I wanted Quaresma too, providing he was willing to join us despite the weather conditions in the UK.

The reports on Babel suggest he is another hit and run player ala Cisse.

If he can show even glimpses of this then he'll be a massive improvement on what we've had coming from the wings in the last few seasons

He's a young player and obviously has alot to learn before he reaches his full potential. There are alot of reasons as to why he has perhaps been in and out of the side at Ajax. Age and inexperience are probably the key factors. Rafa has obviously been convinced of the lads potential or he wouldn't have invested so heavily in him. I think Rafa will nurture him in the right way and while we might not see the best of him for the first season or so I think he could prove to be an excellent signing for us in future.

If Rafa has been convinced enough to spend that amount of money on the player then it's good enough for me. Lets get the lad here and see how he does before we jump to conclusions.

Those of you who follow Dutch football. Is he likely to play better than Kalou did last year?

What does he have in his locker that Kalou doesn't. Kalou looked very lightweight and didn't seem to have the fighting mentality you need for the EPL.

i think you could be right, thers is no doubting his potential, perhaps we will still go for one of the wingers that have been talked about so much as well

very true mate and there are plenty of the new henrys, zidanes and platini's hopefully though for once we may get one that fulfills his potential
