    Twenty Years

20 years ago we completely changed the style of our play with the purchase of some real quality attacking players. The result was the finest footballing side I have ever seen, or am ever likely to.

I cant help feeling like its beginning to happen all over again with the signings weve made this summer. I dont think for one second we will be as good, or as attractive to watch as the 87-88 team because it is not possible in my opinion. BUT, i do feel you are going to see a completely different reds side this season to the one last season, we will definitely go for the throat more.

    Bring it on

That was a ****in great side. Won the title in April, went 29 (I think) games unbeaten from the start of the season and released the Anfield rap.
How did we ever lose that Cup Final?

    Barnes, Beardsley, Aldo

If we're half as dominant as that team it will be amazing.
I hope it does happen, there's a generation of LFC fans who don't know what it's like for the mighty reds to be on top domestically.

We are gonna tear teams to bits at anfield this year withoubt any doubt. I just hope the lads have learned there lesson and go for the throat away from home more too. If they do, the league will be all over bar the shoutin by chrimbo

I love these rallyign calls, I'm in too. I've always been ridiculously over optimistic at the start of the season but this summer it seems we have really pushed the boat out.
I'm particularly excited about Torres and Babel, I don't know why but I think these 2 are going to add a new dimension to our play.
And fianlly I think players like Benayoun and THE CROW are going to surprise a few people, our own fan and other teams. Then there's Lucas Levia

So many attacking options and we've also cut a lot of dross which is a new development for us.

Bit of good luck without any injuries and some early momentum could see us up there.

Fella, we may as well just be handed the title now cos were gonna piss it AND play the best football whilst doing so

Plus the players who've come all seem to really want to be here. Torres said we were the only club he wanted to join, Benayoun seems desperate to join, Babel talked about us being a assive club and the CROW turned down other big clubs (allegedly).
Apart from the stunning football and the total destruction of our opponents in 87/88 one thing I can remember is what seemed to be an incredible team spirit. They never seemed under pressure, they just seemed to enjoy playing and enjoyed meeting every challenge set of them. In some games they almost seemed to be taking the piss out of opponents, like the QPR game at Anfield and the Forest game too
I get the feeling we are developing the same spirit this season and a good start will do wonders.

Yup with some of them taking pay cuts to play for us. A lot better than at Chelsea where they are all panicking as Chelsea wont be offering them extra pay. Whoever had the nerve to call them mercenaries?? It was always the love of the club

With Benayoun, Babel, Torres and perhaps the Crow we can definetely play more attractive, expansive and easy on the eye football.
Also with Garcia gone we will keep the ball better and have a more reliable set of players, i think Pennant will also play apart next season and who is to say a fully fit Harry Kewell rediscover some of his magic. Add to that a very fired up Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard after a rather mixed season for the pair of em last season. We got the monster masch in there, a more experienced Daniel Agger, another fired up player in Carragher(well i suppose he is anyway) with all the ridiculous criticism of his decision to call it a day with England.
                      We're fooking flying lads, flying
