Great news! SF was, IMO, our most consistent player last season and therefore player of the season.

The similarities between him and Denis Irwin are huge. Hopefully he will also have as long a career as that Manc.

The only notable difference I can think of is Finnan doesn't take free-kicks or pens, as Irwin did. Otherwise they are very similar.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah he is quite similar to Dennis Irwin in terms of use of the ball, coolness in possession, positional sense, defend first mentality but also effective going forward etc.
Irwin was a terrific wee player for the scum, real nice guy off the pitch too.

He had 4th highest number of assists in CL last season, only Juninho, Ronaldo and Giggs had more.

Best right back in the prem, also arguably our best crosser of the ball.

I think SF is so badly under rated, he's been so consistant for us for the last few seasons almost like you don't notice him because he gets on with his job and is Mr reliable. Although I think JP is a better crosser of the ball.

                            Great news, Finnan's class.

TBH I was dissapointed woith Jermaine's crosses. At Birmingham I thought he was the best crosser in the league, but last year was dissapointing.

finnan will only be valued as the true star he is when he is gone. as it is only then we will realise how excellent he was when we try to replace him. been up there with carragher and hyypia as the best defenders for liverpool for last few years
