There's only one idiot having a go, fella. Everybody else agrees with you...Originally posted by silvershanks View PostWish people would get off his back as he is a genuiney nice guy who owes us nothing and played a huge part in our success in Istanbul. Good luck Jerzy hope it works out for him.

Are some of these replies for Real? Do we have people in this forum saying that they would turn down the biggest club in the world to sign for Getafe, Recretivo, Benfica etc? Ha ha. And what happens when Carson leaves this year or next? Say we want to bring in an experienced keeper for cover, what ‘mercenary’ would be fit to wear the beloved red shirt?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

But good luck to him as he will never be forgotten for his Istanbul fluke/heroics.
A tad harsh me thinks.
On a seperate note, could you imagine Casillas did get injured and we met Real in the final. Unlikely, but who could have predicted Istanbul, meeting Chelsea in semi's and Milan in the final again. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I`d like to look at this from slightly different angle.
Dudek was first polish player to wear Liverpool shirt , now he is going to be first polish player in history to play ( sit on the bench) for Real Madrid. He will be remembered for it no matter what happens.
Add few succesfull season with Feyenoord and it`s not a bad career for a guy who almost quit playing football and started to work in coal mine because he was fourth choice in third division club in Poland.
As much as I believe that it`s mostly money - motivated move, I`d say that " being first ever" played some part in his decision to move to Madrid instead of Huelva.

A little harsh perhaps but his Istanbul performance was littered with good luck.
I would love to face any team with Dudek in goal.
