You can recieve showtime arabia in uk if you have a dish at least 1.2 metres and pay a subscribsion of around £400-500 per year.No need,i don't intend on missing a single game next year, and i'm not paying that kind of money.

You'd need a 2m dish to get Showtime I've read?

Not sure on size of dish needed but would imagine it would be larger than that. All I know is it's nowhere near as easily accessible as ART was. DigitAlb is the way to go for me,dearer than ART but c'est la vie

Showtime promises a different ball game
                  Thursday 07 Jun, 2007

                  BY MIKE NORRISH

Showtime has backed up its pledge to bring first-rate Premier League coverage to the UAE by signing top UK presenter Rob McCaffrey to front its new football show. 7DAYS can reveal the former Sky Sports presenter will be moving to Dubai this summer - bringing a new level of professionalism to English sports broadcasting in the region. Showtime have also promised to bring top pundits such as Alan Shearer, Steve McManaman and Ian Wright over to Dubai when its exclusive Premier League coverage kicks off in August.

McCaffrey is one of the UK’s most popular and recognisable sports broadcasters. His trademark enthusiasm has brought spark to Sky’s successful phone-in show, and his arrival is a welcome boost to football fans across the region. Former Scotland international Derek Whyte, who has experience in the UAE with ART Prime Sports, will be the show’s regular pundit, with leading former internationals joining him each week.

Showtime is currently building two custom-made studios in Media City, from which its English and Arabic football shows will be broadcast. With a series of innovative gadgets also planned to liven up the half-time and post-match analysis, the new package promises to be a dramatic improvement from that which UAE fans have become used to.

In fairness to ART Prime Sports, its team improved immensely after the arrival of presenter Joe Morrison, although with such a limited budget it struggled to provide the kind of quality common across Europe. “Showtime is determined to take coverage of the Premier League onto the next level, and Rob McCaffrey gives us the chance to do exactly that,” said Andy Warkman, the channel’s head of sport. “He’s a legend in the UK, and he will gives us loads of options. He’s got bags of energy and enthusiasm and with all his experience in the UK it won’t be difficult to get top-class pundits over to work alongside him.”

Earlier yesterday, leading figures from Showtime and ART shared a stage at the Dubai International Sports Conference after a series of clashes between the rival broadcasters. Showtime has blasted ART for “disguising the truth” over an SMS message sent to customers which claimed top Premier League matches will still be available on its channels next season.

Marc Antonie d’Hullain, Showtime’s CEO, told delegates that while ART may have club channels such as MUTV next season, it will not have access to live coverage. “Club channels cannot broadcast live coverage, and they cannot show delayed coverage until the next day. This is not what football fans are used to, or what they want. We are not talking about a movie.”

Looks like my viewing is going to be a bit threatened next season then, hopefully seeing as the first few games are on uk sat anyway, it might give the boozers a bit of time to get things sorted
