Liverpool Football Club would like to warn all our fans about a number of ongoing email-based scams that have come to our attention.
The senders are claiming Liverpool FC and their Board of Directors are giving away high value cash prizes.
All the recipient has to do to claim their prize is reply to the email with their personal details.
The emails claim to come from a number of differently named companies and individuals all claiming to represent a Liverpool FC lottery.
Please be aware Liverpool FC is not currently running, or intending in the future to undertake, this type of promotion.
The club is continuing to work closely with the appropriate authorities to halt the activities of those involved.
The Metropolitan Police have passed on the following information to Liverpool FC to share with our fans:
Although this Liverpool Football Club Lottery Scam is now well known, it is still causing a problem for a few people. It is basically a form of Advance Fee Fraud.
Can all occurrences of this Scam be reported to the Metropolitan Police Fraud Alert Website for correlation. Hopefully this will enable us to close the Websites and E-mail accounts of the people who are trying to steal your money. The email address is: [email protected]
