I think Rafa's done a tremendous job in shifting some of the absolute ****e we had when Ged left us. In just on 3 or so years, he's shifted all of Geds crap, shifted on the players he bought himself that didn't cut it and seems he's replaced them with quality players all over the pitch.

To be honest i'm quite happy for all of our players to stay at the moment but I do think there's going going to be question marks over a few:

Aurelio - Seems a quality player but if we can't rely on him what use is he, i think this will be a make or break season for him

Sami - Must be nearly time to hang up the boots, but if he can carry on for another season after this coming one i'd be very happy.

Carson - Not sure he'll be happy challenging Reina all season, I expect him to ask to leave next season, after playing about 6/7 games for us this season.

Kewell - Needs a very good season to stand any chance of staying with us, I expect him to come good tho

Assuming our new signings all settle, replacing those above players should be doable, so i think the future is bright

Riise - If insua is as good as made out or aurelio stays fit reckon he could move on in Jan to find regular football

Crouch - I think he may leave to get first team football which would be a shame as i rate him. Crouch loves football so much that i think he wants to be playing week in, week out.

Pennant - Big few months for him, he needs to become more of a goal threat if he is goin to be a regular for rafa.

I cant understand why kewell is still there!? His time at Anfield has been a mixture of bad attitude, bad injuries and bad performances. Ok he had 1 or 2 good spells but good aint enough.
Pennant is different because he tries. He puts the work in, but does he have enough quality? And Peter Crouch in my opinion is slightly under rated as a footballer. He has a serious lack of pace and slow feet, but his intelligence and ball controll are fantastic. I have no worries when I see Crouch in the starting line up. Aurellio,I think, is dead weight, I cant see him adapting to Premiership football at all.

You are probably right but it makes a change that none of these players are ****, i'm sure some will go but we'll probably get decent money for them all good business

I wouldnt question Kewell's attitude tbh or effort, he was only fit in his first season and he did well, he deserves another season. The only dead wood at the mo for me are LeTallec, Riise, possibly Paletta (a loan would be ideal) and next year Hyypia. Harsh on Sami i know but his lack of pace these days is scary.

I've been having a look on wikipedia at Aurelio's career - not sure how accurate it is - but he's played only 173 games since he debuted for Sao Paulo in 1997. Average of 17 games per season, not very much
