    Rafa type of player

I really like the type of players Rafa is signing/interested in. Kuyt, Bellamy, Crouch, Sissoko, Gonzalez, Paletta and Alves are all very agressive and hard working team players. This team Rafa is building, will imo be seriously challenging in the years to come. There is always a very good reason why Rafa signs a player. And if he cant get exactly what he's after, then he wont sign anyone. I've never experienced a Liverpool manager as systematic and professional as Rafa.
There is BIG potencial in our attacking play. I've always wanted real wingers in our team, but we've never really had any the last 15 years. Well now we do!
After seeing Kuyt today, I'm convinced he'll be able to make a BIG impact and score 15-25 goals every season. I've been hoping we would sign him for a long time, but I didnt expect him to be that good right from the start.
I've never been this optimistic but this time I know I have a very good reason to be just that. I dont expect us to win the league this year, but we've taken a big step in the right direction this summer.

I think the good thing about the signings is that you can see Rafa is looking not only for players who can help the team now, but who also will improve and be in the team for years to come too.

Thats right. We can all see what Rafa wants and he gets it one piece at a time. Maybe we're not ready for the title this season, but we will be...soon.

                    Good post.

I think if we're in any way close coming up to the end of the season, we'll win it. We'll run down whoever's ahead of us. We just gave the Chavs too much of a headstart last year.

'Cogs in a machine' is the quote I believe Gerrard made regarding Rafa's view on players and its one i agree with. Systematic seems to me to be the perfect word to sum up Rafa's approach. He doesnt neccesarily sign the best players but ones that will fit into the teams style and has the qualities that Rafa looks for. If you'd have told me a year ago that we would have signed Bellamy and Pennant and looking at Lucas Neill I would have laughed in your face. Fact is though that you can see all 3 slotting into the set-up perfectly.
Methodical, intelligent - I cant sing Rafa's praise highly enough, will be mentioned in the same breath as Shanks and Sir Bob in yearsto come IMO
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

Cogs in a machine is exactly right. Not only is Rafa building such a great squad of players but it is a squad that is adaptable and can change formations on the fly with one substitution. We will be a very formidable opponent once we have fully integrated all of the new signings.

I think we have to win it this year. Both Utd and Arsenal have stood still in the transfer market this year and you can bet it wont happen next year. This is our best chance as we are the poorest of the top 4.
