Agger seems to be better when we are playing more of an attacking game, I would like to seem him gradually replace Sami, although I think Sami will have to be used against some of the more attacking teams.

I still think Agger will be a legend at the club though, as big as Sami if not bigger!

        Sami
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

I think that Dagger will become a great player but now is not the time for easing Sami out just yet, i agree with what bazza76 said really with rotation between Dan and Sami. we haven't seen Daniel tested that much defensively yet and we all know what Sami can do, so talk of Phasing the big Fin out altogether is a bit premature. but next season i would imagine that the centre back pairing will be Carra and Dagger.

I think we need a settled back four and also that Agger appears to be playing better than Sami at the moment. So I would play Agger.

Although I admit the timing of the change with Everton and Chelsea up next is not ideal.

I'd drop Sami for Agger personally. The big Fin has looked shakey for me so far this season and Agger has really impressed. Great bringing the ball forward as well, reminds of what I have seen of Hansen.

the next 3 games will be a benchmark for the season 3 tough away games and i think we need a settled side so rafa has to make his mind up and stick to it so assuming carra`s fit i would go for him and sammi purely for the experience and understanding that they have as a partneship and bring agger in for the newcastle home game
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

I disagree, I think Sami needs rest between games and so he and Agger and Carra will all be rotated, in fact I think that the next month will see a lot of rotation throughout the side as we have many games in a short space of time.

I don't think that Rafa believes in a 1st eleven, he believes in an interchangeable squad, IMO.

To be honest i think Carra is the first name on the team sheet and it will be Sami and Daniel that get rotated. Remember the last time Sami started to miss a few games, he came back and was as good as new. If that is what cometition does for him then it can only be a good thing.

I'd be inclined to have Agger in first choice now.

                      And not rotating with Sami.

Defensive rotation leads to uncertainity. I think Rafa likes to have a clear forst choice back 5 anyway.

I wouldnt say that is entirely true mate. Rafa likes alot of different types of players as we all know, we have never really been spoiled for choice with quality full backs. I would think if Rafa had his choice, he would have ultra defensive type fullbacks and attack mided fullbacks to call upon.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

That's possibly true, but whatever argument can be made for changing up the fullbacks, it's not the same for a central defensive pairing. I reckon they've got to be the same ...wind, rain or Shevchenko.

Agger's done well, and he's going to be a good player for us, but Sami hasn't let us down and I'd still feel more confident going up against the scum or Chavs with Hyypia and Carragher at the back. It's tried and tested.

You cant drop Sami at the moment - he and Carra read the game too well.
I guess Carra could play as a full back if Agger had to play - especially as the left hand side looks a bit dodgy at the moment.

Likewise, Agger could play Left Back. He's played there a few times in his career I think.
