    Will it be enough?

    Assuming that we do sign a quality left back, will it be enough to make a serious challenge at the title this season?

    i believe it is fair to say that the team is now moulded in the manner that Benitez wants it. So, is anything less than a close second going to be a failure?

    How much should we expect from our team this season? and perhaps next season?

    Note to idiots - these are just questions meant to open the discussion a little.

            reagrdless of a leftie coming in we should expect a title challenge anything less is a failure, but not necessarily rafa's failure.

            we should now expect a title challenge under Rafa year in, year out.

                Gerrard, Alonso and Torres are the key to winning the EPL. Everything else is noise.

                  We will be closer but I don't think we are there yet. We have to see how the new players settle. I would be delighted if we were less than 5 points off the top, it would be good progress. I think the following season would be more realistic
