    Half A World Away

    Maybe i'm alone in this i don't know, and apologies in advance if something similar has been posted before.

    Does anyone think its maybe not such a good idea for us to be travelling half way arounf the world just to play a in a friendly tournament or a few warm up games. Its obviously makes sense financially but thats not really what im getting at. I mean maybe some of you who have been on long haul flights can tell me, but id imagine flying that distance takes it out of you. can't be good for the players to have to fly to the far east... play a few matches and fly back again before the season starts. would you think this is tiring them out for minimal benefit?
    an alternative could be to do what the arse have done. Set up a mini tournament nearer home and get some teams to come here. doesn't really have to be at anfield either. we could play it at tranmere or a lower league teams stadium ( like goodison ). Could even link it in with the hjc and make it an annual thing to help bring it a bit of cash for the campaign and maybe raise awareness a bit further.

    any opinions?

    or am i just pissing in the wind?

    For the likes of you and I, long-haul flights would really take it out of you. But these feckers will be flying first class with all the trappings associated with that. They might be a bit jaded for a day or 2.

      Long haul flights dont take it out of you, just go on the piss as soon as you get back no matter what time, youll sleep sound then your sorted when you get up.

          Its all about the money, but not the money earned in the week or two they are away but building and maintaining the support they have. Also there is a question of how liverpool perhaps owe supporters in different countries who pay for shirts, TV subscriptions etc; would it be a little arrogant to ignore all this? Besides these foreign tours build team morale and togetherness and as already pointed out flying first class isn’t all that bad really

                it would be very short such as lfc not to tour these places......you see the news its phenomenal when these players land in some of these countries
