Seriously though folks, man for man comparisons? How pointless is that??

How about if we changed the order a bit, would that change the strengths of each squad? Cos if you change the comparisons, you'll get different results - yet the squads are still the same squads!

      Surely you can see this?

            b) It's spelled correctly - your 'Hyppia' is badly wrong

As for picking the hapless Brown ahead of Sami - sadly Sami's legs have all but gone and the much younger Brown is a better squad option NOW. Obviously, he's nowhere near the centre-back Sami Hyypia is.

This was my point, not the actual spelling

You'd rather have Brown over Hyypia?! Fair enough.

I think all this Sami's legs gone business is being greatly exagerated, if Agger hadn't broken in last season Hyypia would still have been a perfectly suitable option to play, although he may have needed the odd few games rest. Therefore as a squad player, Sami is infinitely better than Brown imo

No I wouldn't "rather" - I hate Brown and love Sami, obviously - but Brown is probably a better option in the respective squads given his age.

Utd's squad is still better than ours. If we signed a quality wide player, Simao for example, and perhaps a left-sided-centre-back then we'd probably be on a par with them.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned arguably the most important factor…..RAFA.

If Ronaldo is arguably the best player in the world and Rafa employs Mascherano to successfully take him out of the game ala Kaka, then it doesn’t if he’s better than Pennant or not.

Ferguson is no doubt a great manager, but in a tactical head to head with Rafa, I’d say we have a clear advantage. Results might not have proved that thus far, but now Rafa has the right players it should be a lot more evident.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's going to be interesting, there's no doubt about that. Whilst Man Utd *may* have a few more players that make their team stronger in a one-off game against us, playing United hasn't been our problem. We had the complete run of the ball in teh Anfield tie. Yes, we lost, but with a player like Torres instead of Bellamy who played that match, who knows?

Our problem in the league under Rafa has been being able to beat the top sides (something we went some way in doing last term) and being unable to finish off the weaker sides (better players brought in should fix this problem)
