Thank God he's such a good TV presenter...

Sadly, Liverpool have got more ex-players as media pundits than anybody else and they all feel like they have to say something contentious to justify their fees...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

      FLMAO. Worst. Signing. Ever.

Made a cracking, although not too original football chant though.

At least Barnsey apparently watched a video of him before he deciding to sign him, unlike Souness signing George Weah's 'cousin'.

Although I think Scheidt cost about £4/5m, so that probably tips the scales.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's almost embarrassing watching him on TV, i nearly want to drag him out of the TV and give him a hug... I said nearly.

However, least we not forget he's probably one of 'the' most exciting players in our history. And has defended us to the hilt on many an occasion.

Plus this article seems to have little substance. To be fair I also don't think we have done well enough to win the league, the acid test is making progress and ensuring we close the gap.

Digger would make a better coach driver for Barnes Travel than a football coach or TV presenter...

Fantastic player for us but he proves the theory that great players rarely make great managers...

It will be interesting see what Lawro says about our chances for teh new season, and the reaction to his comments!

I was chatting to beardsley about JB and he said he was the best player he ever played with and the worse commentator he has ever seen!!

He actually said something like "Rafa has made some great signings - Torres is a player I like a lot and he will do well in English football - but I think it might be a season or two before the gap on Man United and Chelsea is closed"...

                    Words to that effect.
So he doesnt think we'll be winning the title...same as me then.

I wonder if HE'LL get slaughtered for it too

It may have been honest, it may even prove accurate, he probably would have got slated for saying otherwise, but I still don’t like it.

So if someone doesnt think we'll win every game, they're not being supportive?

Nope, it doesn’t. Don’t know where you got that from.

to the poster who said it could click, yes thats right and we saw it did for united last season and we have some good attacking players in the team now but imo uniteds player are far superior

what would you have, scholes, rooney, ronaldo or torres, babel, benayoun??

For me its the former comfortably, scholes was one of the best playmakers in the world last season, and dont get me started on rooney and ronaldo, we all hate the but they are the best attacking players in the league by faaar now henry has gone.

only drogba comes close, and u never know with tevez, playing with better players he could explode aswell.

Still a pointless comparison, three players who haven't played a pro game for us yet, why not say pick Gerrard, Mascherano, Crouch vs Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves
