Stop exAGGERating says Rafa
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been very impressed by the early season form of Daniel Agger.
However, the Red's boss is also a little concerned and feels its far too early to burden the young centre half with comparisons to former great defenders from the clubs past.
'He is a young player with a lot of confidence in himself, as you can see in his training. He is very, very focused with a lot of quality, said Benitez
'He's also got a very good shot, as you saw. You see him shooting like that all the time in training.
'It will be difficult for him to score too many like that but I'd like to see another before the end of the season!'
'As a centre-back he can play the ball very well. Sometimes you get players who just clear it, but he can pass it too. He is someone who can fit in very well with Sami or Carra. Sami is very good in the air while Carra is more aggressive, and Daniel can do both.
'I am very happy with him but I'm a bit worried that people are talking about him like an Alan Hansen or the other great defenders from the club's history because he's a young player'
'He's a player for the future, but he's a good player now. It's not easy to find a player of his age who's happy to play on stages like Anfield.'
Agger could not understand all the fuss. He said: 'I only played about 50 games for Brondby and managed to score six, which is not bad for a centre-back.
'I am not sure if it can become a regular thing. I was surprised a little, maybe it was a lucky punch.
'Now I will just have a quiet night and try to watch it on video. The goal for me isn't that important.
'The manager has encouraged me to come out of defence but it is also part of my game. I enjoy having the ball at my feet.
'You just have to have the courage to do it and maybe other centre-halves don't. And of course I have heard of Hansen, but I cannot remember how he played.'
Get them feet back on the ground lad, and put some effort in, and who the hell is Hansen?
