they had been working on the Torres deal for years... he was far and away their first choice, and he turned them down
since the intense torres rumours last year we've heard nothing since, had he actually rejected our most hated rivals that would no doubt he in the press by now.
its obvious by his comments their interest ended last year when he chose to renew his contract and lets be honest with rvn leaving and their early cl exit earlier in the season they werent that attractive to go to.
tables have turned extraordinarily tho sadly
anyway im not arsed, we got our man and thats all that matters.

its obvious by his comments their interest ended last year when he chose to renew his contract So why didn`t our interest wane?,why didn`t Madrid notify ManU we were intereseted to spark a bidding war?I`ll tell you why, because when torres told madrid he wanted to leave he told them only to accept a bid from one team,LIVERPOOL FC.and lets be honest with rvn leaving and their early cl exit earlier in the season they werent that attractive to go to.Really,ManU not that attractive to go to.Pffffff

because tevez settling into the epl so well made fergie convinced he should go through all barriers to get him and that made him not go for torres after being turned down so many times
and yes, last summer after the bad season united had they werent that attractive to go to
their early cl exit shattered their reputation but theyve put those ghosts away not it seems

I agree with you. It's not like they wanted him this summer and didn't get him. As you say they gave up trying to get him. Still, it's just nice that we managed to piss off that purple nosed **** by getting a player he wanted for so long.
