Thanjk you.

I read the article by Maddock and have to say it's accurate in every word. When you spend that much money you are expected to win trophys.
Rafa is not stupid, he knows that and he knows the expectations at LFC or else he would have never accepted the job.
Furthermore, if some of you do not know how American owners operate you should follow a bit of North American Sports a bit more.
Some owners are notorious of firing/hiring Gm's and coaches(thats what managers are called in N American sports) when things do not go accordingly.
Now I'm not saying that Hicks & Gillete will do that but you expect a return on your big investment in every business.
I have no doubt that Benitez will deliver #19 either this season or next one, in addition to a cup or two.
I went on to their website and read the article. It's the single worst piece of crap I have read in recent times.
All he's done is take Parry's statement about how we want a winning team when we move into the new stadium and made it sound as if Parry and the yanks have laid down the gauntlet to Rafa.
I had to stop reading the article half way through because it was so poor. It's obviously been a slow news day.

Success is winning something this season, not necessarily the league. I don't think there is a huge amount of pressure on Rafa to win the league this season. Perhaps in a couple of years if we haven't won the title then it's natural that the pressure on his shoulders could start to grow but certainly not this season.

Gillett, said as much. Next couple of seasons or so before we had to win the league.

The americans need to put the pressure on Rafa to deliver the title each and every season, that's the least that we expect at LFC.
Don't you think Rafa already puts that pressure on himself. Doesn't say much for Rafa if he needs the Yanks to do it for him.
Yes he is but that's the least we can expect from LFC's manager. At the end of the day, there is no sentimentalism in football (and in other walks of life). He ultimately has to deliver.

Disagree.
We are where we are now because we are so sentimental about winning the Prem.
We have been winning trophies over and over, but none of them compare to what we almost believe actually belongs to us - the league title.
The lack of a league title makes us fans and even the media wonder what has happened to LFC , all other tropies aside. no other club in the country, even the scum has that much respect.

By 'sentimentalism' I meant that Rafa should be treated based on results only.
