Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Carlsberg imo have taken advatage (money wise) of us in shirt sponsorship deals and i thought the idea of having a new 3 year deal with them was so we don't have to change our home kit after 1 season and that at the end of the 3rd season we will have new shirt and stadium deals (probably the same company ala Arsenal) for the opening of the new stadium.

Adidas would be a good one as mwntioned before.
I wouldn't rule it out. Carlsberg would want to increase their market share in UK from 13% and they are heavily involved in Asia, where we have lots of supporters, and where Premier League is very popular. As I mentions elsewhere, Carlsberg spend close to £400M a year on marketing, so a combined shirt and stadium sponsorship would be affordable for them. They estimated the value of Istanbul2005 to €10M for them. And that's just one single match. I think they will stretch far to compete if other companies are trying to outbid them.
