    The JAR Appreciation Thread

We have a good player in JAR.

He's even been targeted by the portugeeser for special one treatment to try and unsettle him.

    Get well soon John.

I appreciate him. Here. For you all to see.

    Appreciate him too.

We are decidedly shaky at the back when he doesn't play.
    The stats back me up!

Did you mean the double negative Bob?

So, when Riise plays we are shaky? Surely, last season he was a vital component of our fabulous defence?

Has he learnt to use his right foot yet?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

You've got to put his offensive contribution on the other side of the scale Bob.

            He is in credit. No?

Defensively iffy. But the best we have at present at LB. How hard can it be given the competition?! Although I expect Aurelio to adapt to LB if needed (given he was signed as a left m/f)

Have we had this confirmed by Rafa that he sees Fabio as a LM?

From what I've seen of him, he looks like a LB that just needs sometime to adapt to the English game. He doesn't look like a 'winger'

I heard that Riise was concerned about his position given the increased competition Aurelio offered at l/b. Rafa *apparently* (according to Alan Green methinks ) told Riise that Aurelio had been signed to play at left midfield and, that being the case, shouldn't see him as competition.

One of my favourite LFC players, Think he is fast becoming a bit of a ult figure at Anfield.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Me too, I especially like that it can be misconstrued as someone getting boned whilst holding onto a rail for support.
