Young duo handed starts Tue, Aug 29 2006 15:56
Jack Hobbs and Paul Anderson have been named in the Reds reserves for the second string's opening game of the season tonight.
Both players had a taste of first-team action during pre-season and are likely to be handed further chances to impress in the domestic cup competitions this season.
But for now centre-back Hobbs and midfielder Anderson have to impress new reserve boss Gary Ablett, who takes charge of the side for Tuesday's home clash with Manchester City.
Despite an international break, it is a young side that will start the season for the reserves with Lee Peltier, who has been in the first-team squad recently, and Austrian Under-21 international Besian Idrizaj included.
Kick-off at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground is at 7pm.
