    Giles Barnes and Warnock the tw.t!!

    Just posting some snippets from the Beeb. Who knows if there is any truth in any of them but here they are anyway


    Derby boss Billy Davies has slapped a £5m price tag on Giles Barnes, who is attracting interest from West Ham and Tottenham. (Various) I'd snap him up for that price. May be coming back from injury but what a talent


    Fulham manager Lawrie Sanchez will offer £1m for Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia. (Daily Express) No bloody chance

    Meanwhile, Liverpool will move for Celta Vigo defender Diego Placente if they fail to sign Manchester United's Gabriel Heinze. (Daily Express) Chiellini, Baines and now Placente. Maybe Gaby won't be joining us after all?

    And the Reds have offered French striker Anthony Le Tallec to Sochaux for £2.5m. (The Times) Can't see anyone paying that for him TBH

      Giles Barnes for that price is a bargain. He is already a cracking player, and has the potential to be in the top class level.


      He's also the type of player we need.

            Agree. Derby may have stuck a price on his head to get some off the scent but I'd defo be following it up if I was Rafa

              He's an outstanding talent. We were linked with him for a bit so I hope we go for him.

                  Couldn't agree more, for that price I think he would be an absolute bargain even if we loan him back to Derby for a year to gain some more experience. Fantastic player and an amazing prospect for the future

                    For 5M, I'd definitely sign him and loan him back for a year or two.

                    If he's as big headed as he's supposed to be, it might be a bit too early for him to come to a big club.

                      Agree with loaning him back for the season and when they get relegated we take him full time

                      Hadn't heard about the big headed business but Rafa would either sort it or not sign him if he was too full of himself.

                        I think a lot of teams are taking the attitude that his price probably won't change a great deal by the end of the year but they will know how he handles the PL. He has looked a very good prospect in the highlights I have seen but the lack of a consistent link to any of the top 4 or Spurs indicates to me that either people in football have doubts or he wants to stay at Derby at least in the short term.

                          I can see Derby doing a Watford with barnes and selling hium for an inflated price in Januray.

                            Except Barnes is already a far better player than Young.

                            I really hope we dont miss out on this kid.....he will be a class player, and we will be regretting it for the next 10 years.

                              It reminds me a little of the Aaron Lennon situation where Spurs took a chance on him and he must be now worth £15M + in todays market.
