I really hope we dont miss out on this kid.....he will be a class player, and we will be regretting it for the next 10 years.

    Big call i know
What i mean is that he will shine in a poor side, and will leave in january for around 10 million. Im like you and think we should go for him.

Giles Barnes trains at the same gym as me in Derby. To be honest I think he thinks he's better than he is..got a bit of an attitude on him

I've heard that, but I think you need that bit of arrogance to be a top player.

          Just a bit.

Keni alluded to it earlier - he's a big headed c*nt and, the last time I heard he had a very fractured relationship with Billy Davies who couldn't stand his prima-donna attitude.

I've seen him with my own eyes "whooping" as he goes past someone....shouting "See ya!" and ****e like that. I used to love facing people like that - one "whoop" and he'd be dumped on his arse.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

For ****s sake, he's very young, still immature, but was one of the best talents in the Championship last season. I'd take him over Walcott/Young any day.

            £5m is a bargain.

(I've watched a fair bit of him - my missus is a Derby fan )

He said that he wanted to stay though didn't he, which may rule out a move this summer

Id say its a fair bet he would retract that statement the second either Us, The mancs, Chelsea or Arsenal put a bid in.

Obvioiusly he`d rather stay at derby if its only the likes of spurs sniffing round

He's a fookin good player. A season training with Carra would knock that big-headedness out of him.
A season at Spurs would ruin him.

                    Sign Barnes Rafa

I completely agree. It is a lack of confidence and belief in his own ability that has held Pennant back. Apparently Shrek said "the big man's back in town" when he returned to the England camp in Germany last summer and didn't Stevie say something like "I'm the f**** man" when celebrating a goal? It makes them sound like wakners but maybe it's that level of confidence that is needed.

                        You must be joking right?

He was one of the best in the championship last season and is only 19

He is decent, but I think he is anything more.

everytime ive seen him play he was the best player on the pitch by miles.

If he is available for 5mill then we should snap him up. He is a future star, and is already good enough for our team IMO.
He only turns 19 this weekend....give him 2 years at a top club and he will be frightning

                              I agree totally.

What confuses me is that if Derby wanted to scare clubs off they should have said 10 mil, seems like they have opened the door for offers IMO.

There is no gamble in signing him IMO as 5 mil can easily be recouped if he doesn't work out with us. Buy him and loan him back for 6 months to get experience and re-assess then

                                Oh dear.

NEIL WARNOCK has revealed how he bet on Liverpool to lose last season’s Champion’s League final after feeling betrayed by Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.

In his autobiography the former Sheffield United manager criticises Benitez’s team selection in Lverpool’s 1-0 defeat at Fulham in April – a reault which he cliams cost United their Premier League status.

Warnock writes: “As we arrived at Villa Park on the penultimate weekend of the season, I saw the team Benitez had picked for Liverpool’s visit to Craven Cottage that afternoon.

“Liverpool had beaten Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final the previous Tuesday and I was curious how they would approach the Fulham game.

“But I never thought Benitez would stoop as low as he did. He left out nine of his first-team players. Nine.

“The Champions League final was still more than two weeks away. I couldn’t understand it.

“I hadn’t even heard of two of the players Benitez picked. Seriously. That showed total contempt for us.

“I know he has to look after the interests of his own club. But why rest practically his entire team when the final was still so far away?

“He brought them all back a week later for their last game of the season against Charlton, which was a match with nothing riding on it. I hated Benitez when I saw that Liverpool team. I know that sounds horrible but I did hate him.”
