    New signings/younger players.....

    ..early signs.

Benayoun - Looks like he could make a big impact at LFC. Especially in the home matches using his ability to open up defenses in tight spaces.

Paletta - Carrying on from last season in looking far too bad a player for a team like LFC. Positioning is terrible and far too rash in the tackle. Should be shipped out IMO.

Babel - What we thought. Has the ability to make a big impact but will be a little inconsistant in the beginning but massive potential.

Torres - Absolute top class. Signs are terrific. All the attributes needed to be one of the prems top ever strikers. I claimed we would be signing him before the end of last season and was raving about him all summer. I said that he would do for us what Henry did for arsenal. I was wrong, he will do more.

Leto - First time I seen this lad yesterday and I'm already impressed. Likes to take people on and seems like he has the ability to do it. look forward to seeing more of him.

Levia - Doesn't look like he can cut it from what I've seen. Obv needs more time to try and show what he can do.

El Zhar - Impressed in the few games he's played. Speedy winger with confidence.

Voronin - Looks a lot better than I thought. Useful squaddie.

And a word on Sissoko who looks like he's developing into a very useful player.

Levia - a very harsh judgement from you on very little evidence.

Palleta - needs to play competitive games. If we don't loan him out we will never know if he will develop and if we don't give him the experience we should sell him. Even though he has played quite badly when I have seen him I think he has something, but he will never learn to be a more intelligent player by playing in the reserves.

Agree with all of that except the leiva bit. Thought he played well yesterday.

And I agree about Momo, but he REALLY needs to improve his passing.

Not really. I did say, "from what I've seen" and from what I've seen, he's been ****e. i also said, He obv needs more time to impress meaning he could easily change my mind.. But so far, for a centre mid, his passing has been erratic and terrible and he's offered little else either.

But like I say, it's early days and this is what the thread is all about - "early signs". Like catchphrase, say what you see!!

Yep, his passing/shooting/end product is his only and his sometimes lack of concentration are his only really bad attributes.

His driving from the midfiels into the box, taking players on in the process has been a real plus of preseason IMO. For me, he's been our player of pre-season.

To be fair Leiva wasn't playing in his preferred position yesterday. But I thought he did well without excelling, he just kept it simple

                              what is his preferred option?

no one seems to know, rafa says he can play anywhere in midfield. and from the little i have seen from him from gremio, he likes to sit back, he doesn't look a dynamic box to box player...
