Okay. I think this will be the team:

    ------------Reina-------------
    Finnan---Carra--Agger---Riise--
    Pennant-Sissoko-Alonso-Benayoun
    -------------Gerrard--------------
    ------------Torres----------

    2-0 to us.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I would have liked to have named Mascher too but I get the impression that the players who were at the Copa America will be rested/worked on in training by most of their clubs for an extra week or so.

Interesting, I missed the game against Shanghai but I heard Leto played well. Still im a little surprised you would pick him ahead of Babel, Kewell and maybe Benayoun. No Crouch on the bench either.

True, thats why I didnt name him in the team i THINK he will play

In reality, I would play him personally as I seriously fail to see how a few games of togger in the summer can deprive a 23 year old athlete of so much energy that he cant have another game of togger for 90 minutes.

will we let rafa pick the team for this one ?????
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

Sorry Coops i can't see Leto getting in ahead of Babel or even Kewell, if Gerrard plays down the right i am sure he will add width down the other side and Babel/Kewell will in theory provide that.

But the rest of team is very feasible.
                We come not to play.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I can see your point. I just tend to assume that as all the top clubs seemed to be doing it there is a genuine benefit and we really ought to be able to beat Villa with him or Alonso in the holding role.

Leto looked to me like he`s worth giving a chance to. He deffo isnt frightened of the big-name players around him. He demands the ball and is a big lad too, he wont be kicked out of games thats for sure. Until I saw him in that game I would have opted for Kewell for nothing other than his experience (just dont like the fella at all tbh.)

Benayoun I would mainly bring on from the bench away from home and start him at anfield. I reckon this little fella is gonna make a big difference to us this year in the league. Babel I rate but he seems to be the one out of the new players that would be most helped by bedding in slowly.

Crouch would always normally be either on the bench or in the team for me away from home but, pre-season or not, he`s playing like a **** and voronin isnt so I reckon the crow has earnt a spot ahead of him.

                        Read the thread again fella

Leto isnt in the team I reckon rafa will put out

Actually, I take it back. I like that word - I shall use it myself, sparingly of course, if I may, Paul.

                          Please?

I agree Babel should be eased in slowly but I just couldnt resist the temptation to throw him straight in against Villa. People seem to have low expectations from him, but I have a feeling he's going to be absolutely awesome. He has great arrogance which I love in a winger, he's very quick, super strong and has quick feet that remind me of Anelka. I think the only problem is that he doesnt seem to think he is a winger, but im sure Rafa will put him straight come Saturday.
